Hibernate is flakey

I have a PR4100, and usually when I hibernate from the web interface or press the power button, the LCD display shows something like “Shutting down…” and then powers down as expected. But sometimes the screen immediately goes blank (still on/backlit), the server disappears from the network, and it sits that way indefinitely. What might be going on? Are there any logs that might clue me in?

P.S. If I hold the power button for 5 seconds afterward it will force a power down.

open an elevated command prompt:

powercfg /hibernate off
exit

will allow a better option for shutdown

I’m talking about hibernating the PR4100, not Windows.

I have seen that too when using the WD UI to hibernate/shut down
and re-boots after firmware updates
but not all the time.

The front button does work

BUT did need to re-move power once after a lock up
