I just received a new HGST Ultrastar He10 and am having a problem. When I connected it to my sas adapter the computer didn’t recognize it. Powered off system and removes all other drives and still didn’t see it. When powering on the system I don’t hear and noise or feel spin-up vibrations. I connected it to my other computer with a molex to sata cable and doesnt spin up that way either (did not connect data cable side). Is there anything else I can try before I send this drive back? I am connecting it to a 6gb controller instead of a 12gb one but it should still work, just not at full potential. But still, connecting just power to it I should be able to feel it spin up. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
sounds like a dead drive, i have a few of these connected to a 6gb controller working just fine
