Help With Scan & Defrag

Hi,

Please forgive me if this has come up before, I searched the forums but couldn’t see anything.

I have a My Book that’s a few months old, I’ve never had any issues with the book itself but since I upgraded my computer I can no longer Scan the drive for errors or defrag it: Since changing to Windows 7 the drive is not listed among those I can Defrag and if I choose to scan it the scanner opens but won’t start.

This is made more frustrating by the fact that Windows 7 keeps telling me I need to scan it as it was disconnected in the middle of writting to it (something I’m fairly certain is false)

Your help would be much appreciated!
