Hi, I just purchased a new Passport Essential, intending to use it for storing photos (not for back-up). I am pretty new at this, not technically savvy. I was influenced by the packaging and design of the drive, and the copy on the box which simpy said ultra-portable hard drive. I know now I should have done some research, since after connecting it, I found that it is configured for backing-up my whole system. I already have a back up siystem. Is there any way for me to configure the drive for external storage of my photos ONLY?
Yep, just uninstall the software (Smartware) from your computer
