I just purchased a My Book Essential, and when i first hooked it up it came to the first install screen. As soon as it did this then my computer went to a stop error screen. It asked me if i needed to install any windows updates, which i did. I then tried it again, and the same thing happened. It tells me to disable the bios memory options for caching & shadowing, I am not sure what that is. Can someone please give me some advice?
Have you tried contacting WD’s Technical Support? I would consider giving them a call about this.
