I reformatted the hard drive to FAT32 since I use a mac. However, it had said that would take 8 hrs to format. Then I hit skip so it stopped the formatting process. When I right click on the hard drive to “get info” it says its in FAT32 format and I can easily drag and drop files onto the hard drive.
So does this mean the formatting was done correctly? And does it usually take 8 hrs to format the whole drive?

It’s not suppose to take 8 hours to format the drive. However, it will depend on your computer resources.
Since you stopped a procedure that was not completed, make sure to try to format the drive again and let it finish to avoid data or partition corruption.
