Does anyone know which drive models are included in any of the MY Book * external storages ?
More specifically which drive models are included in model the My Book Duo WDBLWE0080JCH ?
I could not find any of the above info on the product pages for External storage at http://www.wdc.com/en/
There are mainly 2 items that I believe WD should clarify on their product pages:
1-State if drives are included in the books (maybe add a “What’s in the Box” section?)
2-State which drives are in a Book in the Specifications tab (add a columns with drives model # for each Book Model #)
Are the duo enclosures capability restricted to the drives capacity that come with them ?
What I mean is if one purchases WDBLWE0080JCH (which I assume includes 2 x 4TB) can he eventually replace the 2 drives with 2 new identical drives with higher capacity ?
It does not exactly say what type of drive this unit has inside but, on the user manual it states that, in order to upgrade the drives on a My Book duo only use WD Green and WD Red drives.
Here is a link to the users manual which states what type of drives to use in order to upgrade the units. I would not know if there is a limitation as to what size the enclosure supports, lets see if other users that have tried this can share information on this matter:
