Hard Drive spinning up then stopping?

My friend has a wdbabv0010bbk-00 that has failed after a drop.  I made this youtube video to show what it sounds like.  http://youtu.be/T29yGO4DBlg
Does anyone recognize the sound as a specific fixable problem?
Does anyone recomend a data recovery service?
This is, of course, THE hard drive with ALL of her pictures on it and NO BACKUP ;-( so I have to help her get them back.
