Hard drive on but Xbox can’t see it

So I got home, turned my Xbox on and for some unknown reason my WD external hard drive isn’t showing under storage in my Xbox one settings. I checked the light on the hard drive, which is on. Tried another USB port, press and held the Xbox button to do a hard reset… but nothing is working. Any ideas??
