I have this old My Cloud 2T NAS that will not reset with either the 4 sec or 40 sec resets. I need the info from this device, but cannot access it. My question is, if I remove the hard drive from the device, can I use an external docking station to read the HDD, or is the NAS software incorporated in the HDD?
You can attempt it,
but, be aware … the formatted filesystem is Linux EXT2/4
A PC running Windows won’t see any data on it unless you using 3rd Party EXT2/4 Linux drivers or a Linux Live CD/USB
