Hopefully you can answer my questions before I purchase
1 ) I have four standalone Win XP machines all connected by a wired network. I want certain folders from each PC backed up to the NAS. Is this possible ?
2 ) I want to plug the NAS drive into a wall network port - NOT directly into any of the four computers
2 ) What is the trigger for the NAS to do a backup ? Is it possible to get the software to ‘do a backup’ as soon as a new file is written on the XP machine
3 ) Would I need to install some ‘WD dedicated’ software on each PC ?
4 ) I want to give other users on my network access to the backed up folders on the NAS drive. What interface do the other users ‘see’ on their machines - do they see some dedicated WD interface or (hopefully) do they see a normal Windows explorer interface with the folders listed in the normal way ?
