Hi. I have WD Gen 1. It was working and showing movies until last week. I played a . mkv file and after that there was a black screen and no sound. After than I searched something on this web site and I remuxed and decompress movies. Now i can watch videos but there is still no sound. I can’t listen music neither. So what should i have to do. I uploaded firmware also but it still doesn’t work. Please help 
You’re in the wrong forum, by the way, but the Live / Live+ went through this same thing.
It sounds like you turned off VIDEO compression but did not turn off the compression on the AUDIO track. Is that what happened?
If not, post in the correct forum and hopefully someone will help out.
