I have a brand new G-Drive USB that I’ve just formatted for Windows, but I had to plug it into a USB3 port to do so, the drive will NOT mount via USB2, even now that it’s been formatted.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
Thanks
Paul

There is nothing in the chipset on the device that would stop it from working. The device is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 ports.
Is this part of a hub or a port directly attached to the system? Is this a laptop or a desktop? If a desktop system make sure you are using rear ports as they have the best connection.
@ Rydia
I originally tried to connect the G-Drive to a USB2 PCIE card in my desktop and it would not mount… unlike the 3 other G-Tech drives that are connected to my system via the same card.
It works in both the USB2 & 3 I/O ports on my MoBo, but not the card, which is inconvenient, as it has forced me to rearrange my USB connections.
