Drive seems to be otherwise functioning properly, but pretty much from the beginning (bought in October 2016) it intermittently makes a grinding sound when accessing data. I am using it for video editing over the Thunderbolt cable on my 2011 imac (which is operating on Yosemite). Have been avoiding the horrid possibility of sending it back and moving all the data from it, but I am too worried that this is a drive failure and its only going to get worse.
Any one know if this is a common fault and if its easy to fix, or even if it might be down to something like the cable I’m using? It doesn’t happen immediately when using the drive , comes on after a few minutes of using it.
