Fps drops because of hard drive?

Hello, I am new in these forums and I got a really bad problem.

I do own Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD6000HLHX 600GB 10000 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" which is used for recordings.

I have two seperate hard drives. One is for windows and programs other is just for fraps.

The one for windows and software is much slower.

And hard drive for fraps is much faster whcih is WD6000HLHX 600GB.

When I record with fraps I get these weird FPS drops. Ussualy its from 30 to 15 or 25.
When I change my recording folder to my slower drive I get much smoother fps which is weird because my original hard drive for fraps should be much more faster. I don’t know what is the problem and I am really confusing. I have high end PC and this should not happen.

Hi, you can try using DLG to verify if the slower hard drive has any hardware problem, If it completes the test successfully, you can also try to defragment the hard drive. Check the links below for more information.

Benchmarking programs indicate that my hard drive is performing slower than expected
