Flash disk problems

Hello,

I have MyBook connected to USB port. Everything works perfectly, until I insert flash drive to another port.

After while accessing files on flash drive it stops responding to any requests. If I perform shut down,

the computer stucks at shut down screen and won’t whut down. I don’t observe this behaviour when MyBook is disconnected. I would appreciate some problem resolution, thanks.

What OS?
What drive http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?level1=1&lang=en?

My OS = Win7/64

HDD type = My Book Essential

Wd SmartWare version = 1.2.0.7

Drive firmware version = 1.032

I only encounter this problem when both USB storage devices are connected.

Quite unwelcome since brutal turning off PC may damage Windows integrity.
