I have a My Book Essential USB 2.0 for Windows and when I open the WD software to back up files, nothing shows up either in the display for my hard drive or on the external drive. When I open the external drive using My Computer, however, I can see the files that are on the external drive aleady. I have reinstalled the firmware and the software and still nothing. Any suggestions about how to proceed?
i just did a firmware update 20 minutes agor and my drive went blank as in i had no drive fixed with this site older firmware update i used mirrored site =) www.marccizravi.com/2010/remove-wd-smartware/
