I recently bought a 500-gig drive, which is now exhibiting a curious problem…The files on my drive have randomly disappeared.
I don’t know what caused this, because everything was running fine until today. But when I boot the drive up, everything works perfectly…except for the fact that my drive now claims that there is 0% usage rather than about 45%.
I’m running on the latest firmware / software, and when I open up the WD Smartware program, it claims that there is no writable drive…even though it clearly detects that my external drive is plugged in. I tried running the built-in diagnostics, to no avail.
If anyone could help me, it would be greatly appreciated.
