I own this drive since 3,5 years i guess.
In the beginning i had no complaints.
But sice last year the so far noiseless disk
makes fan noise. i contacted support and
they could not really give me a solution.

fan noise occurs randomly. also when the disk
is not accessed at all, the noise shows up. the
disk has no system on it, just documents and
system backup mac OS. (noise occurs also
when backup is inactive).

who can help?!

You should run Drive Test to check the health of My Passport drive using WD Drive Utility. If test fails, there may be issue with the drive and first, it needs to take a backup of your important data stored in the drive.

i did that on several occasions, but wd drive util did not find any damage.
