Factory set or reformat 1TB External Drive what is best?

I have a WD 1TB External Hard drive and i would like to re tet it to factory settings. can i do it ? it is connected to a windows 10 PC ? Thanks

Other than a password if you set one, There are no settings to reset.

So should I just reformat it then or will the remove the software installed? The reason I need to know is i am unable delete files. Thanks Bash

Reformatting it won’t matter. You can replace the software by downloading it from the WD Support website.
