Looking to addan external harddrive to my media player i assume it would have to be a usb powered one can anyone give me some tips please like what size ect thanks.
I have had a lot of luck with Seagate drives, any size. Right now I have 2 3TB external drives hooked up to the SMP with no problems, One is a Seagate and the other is a Toshiba. I would recommend a powered (ac plugged) into wall outlet. The SMP player could handle a USB powered drive but not two. Pulls to much power from the player and sometimes causes it to run slow while navigating the drive. Just an FYI, always eject the drive prior to disconnecting it from the SMP, this will cause the configuration of the compiled data to mess up and cause frustration on your part.
