I have a 750gb WD My Passport Essential SE portable hard drive. i only bought it 2 months ago and i tried updating it. When i watch high quality videos, it stops, crashes and reconnects the device. the same happens when i copy or move files that are larger than 500mb. how can i fix this without formatting my hard drive? thanks! 
Might be a power problem, if you are using a longer USB cable or USB hub, try connecting the hard drive directly to the computer.
i connected it directly to the computer. actually. i tried it to different computers and laptop just to check. but the error is in my hard drive. is it a chord problem?
