EX2ULTRA double Drive Status Fault

Yesterday my EX2ULTRA (firmware 5.12.108) reported two S.M.A.R.T. failures simultaneously and red LED are now on.
I’m going to replace both disks as soon as possible, BUT… I still cannot believe that the warning is really due to real problems with the disks. I think instead that it’s a problem with the NAS software. Can anyone help me to prove it? The NAS has been stable for some weeks since last autoupdate.

I had the same problem a few days ago, but only with one drive.
I revert back to previous firmware than upgraded again to the newest.
Finally the alert gone, everything seems normal.

Take a try and don’t trust in error messages! :slight_smile:

Here is un update: the temperature inside the NAS was horribly high.
I replaced one HD. After few minutes, the temp went down to an acceptable level.
The NAS rebuilt the volume as expected, and now BOTH LEDs are blu.
Since that, it has been working for three days now, without any problem.

I’m happy about that. But again I cannot understand why two alerts were generated at the same time (now I have a new HD on my shelf, waiting for next warning to come…).
