Ex 2 Ultra stuck in "wait to resize" after storage expansion from 4TB to 12 TB

Hello,
My NAS is stuck in “wait to resize” after I executed storage expansion from 4 TB to 12 TB.

History:
WD Ex2 Ultra
Raid 1 with two 4TB disks (WD40EFRX)
one disk was faulty
replaced both disk successfully with two 12TB disks ( WD120EFBX)
I executed firmware update to 5.27.157
As capacity was still at 4TB I executed storage expansion.
Over approx. 16hrs it showed steady progress for storage expansion
Last time I checked it was at 97% completion.
But now it is stuck at “wait to resize” status.
I can’t reboot due to the following error message:
“System shutdown, restore, and restart, as well as a firmware update, are prohibited when the following operations are in progress: disk formatting, disk resizing, disk migration, RAID parity check and firmware upload.”
Anyone who exerienced the same issue and knows how to solve this?
