I initialized by new My Book on a PC, then chose to reformat to back up my Mac Pro, I received my files on the Mac, and now I want it to go back to PC in Windows XP. When I connect to the PC, it sees the VCD but won’t run anything and won’t reformat for NTFS. I’ve tired the instructions (Manage my computer and delete the partition) but it won’t find a partition other than the VCD?

Frustrating.

Control Panel… Administrative Tools… Computer Management… Disk Management

The disk should show up in there.  You should be able to delete the partition and create a new one, then quick format it to NTFS.
