I have physically installed my Caviar Green 1TB hard drive. I am now attempting to open the Data Lifeguard Installation Software. I put the disc in my computer, the menu opens but when I select the ‘Data Lifeguard Installation Software’ I receive an error ‘error opening windows/dlg/setup.’
Can anyone help me? If I can’t get around the error, can I install it manually without the software?
You should not need to use the Data Lifeguard Tools software. If you are installing Windows then only run the Windows installer CD and let Windows setup and format the drive. If this is going to be used as a secondary data drive, then you can format it in Disk Management.
