I keep getting an error on xp saying that there was a problem loading the software and to send report. Then the little icon for WS keeps blinking. I tried exiting the software but does not quit. When I first installed the software it seemed to install fine and I backed up my files. But when I rebooted the pc I started having this issue. I removed the WD software from the cont. panel. Now the PC does not recognize the drive when I connect and turn it on. I really don’t like this drive much and will try returning it for a sad easy to use manual drive. I will have to reboot with drive hooked on to see if PC recognizes the drive so I can reinstall the software. Did any one experience this type of a problem? Can any one help?
If the software given you a problem.
Uninstall the WD Smartware software.
You can just use it as an external drive.
You can manually copy and paste files to it as you wish.
If you want to fix the problem, yes you can.
One of the Microsoft netframe.net is missing from your computer. Especially windows XP machine.
The easiest way to do it is to run the Microsoft updates and install them.
Restart the computer before re-install the WD back up software.
