(Error code -36)

WD External Drives External Drives for Mac

I have a My Passport X which I use as an external drive for my Macbook Pro (MacOS Sierra version 10.12.6) and does not read/cannot be written as there is an issue (Error code -36).

Please can you advise how I resolve this issue.
