Real problem. My daughter is giving me her My Book Essential and she thought she was doing the right thing by erasing all of her stuff from it. But I think she erased the install and setup files and folders, too. What can I do?
Didn;t think there were any set-up and install files and folders on it. If you’re thinking about the Software directory under the Public share then all that lot can be downloaded from Western Digital’s web site.
MyBook ESSENTIALS? Or MyBook LIVE? If the former, you can probably recover the data pretty easily… But like Myron indicates, neithe product has install files on it that can’t be replaced via downloads from WD…
