Encryption on WD MyCloud EX2

I have a WD MyCloudEX2 and I live in CA USA. I’m trying to enable encryption on my device and am following the information in the manual which does state that volume encryption with boot-up password is supported but when I goto the area in setup to enable encryption that option does not appear to be present and the manual does say that “Encryption is not available for certain regions”. Is encryption supported in US and if so can someone provide instructions on how to set it up, what I’m seeing does not appear to match the manual I have. I am running the latest version of the software
