Encryption for Linux

Hello.

I plan buy an MY PASSPORT ESSENTIAL SE 1TB, I use Linux and have a WD TV LIVE too, so I want use NTFS in the HD, I have read that this HD use encryption, can Linux use this encryption? Or, if not, can encryption be disabled ?

If you never set a password for the drive, encryption will never be enabled, and the drive will appear to be just a normal NTFS drive.

I know there is locker/unlocker software for Windows and Mac, but I don’t know if the drive can be used with encryption from Linux.
