how do I update my email preferences without it becoming public? ie on this forum? Also is there a way to change my log-in name?

Unless you’re choosing for your email to be public, none of your preferences will show publicly.
If you want me to change your username, just give me the new one and I’ll do it for you.
Just as a note here… I would use the Private Message system to send the information to Bill if you want to keep your email address private… Posting it in a thread is about as public as you can get
