Ejecting devices connected to the USB MyCloud Port?

How do you safely eject a device, flash drive, connected to that port. On the web control page selecting the USB icon at the top says eject, MyCloud says updating but it never confirms to remove drive. It then returns to the installed state so drive is not removed.

Several of the MyCloud options (Update firmware, reboot, hibernate, etc) just hang when you select them but actually complete in the background. I suspect the eject USB is the same. Does it have an activity light on the USB drive?

Not sure it is on the back of the drive. Thanks for responding,
