DX 4000 Recreate Storage Failed

Hi,

I received a used DX4000 and I’m having trouble getting it up and running.

First of all, thanks for the tons of posts here and all the info available!

I have followed the “Step 2: Recreate my storage” with two sets of WD drives.
The first set were 4 2.0TB drives (WD Enterprise Storage)
The second set were 4 4.0TB drives (WD Enterprise Storage)

In both cases, the initialization completes and the re-creation starts … but it always ends with “Recreate Storage Failed”.

The end of the log file always looks like this:
(Note: I’m not sure how to set the date properly on the DX4000 – I had guessed that would be fixed once the drives are properly setup):

Any suggestions to get this up and running would be much appreciated.

[Edit/Update] : I went ahead and booted the “Recovery” USB stick (3rd option), and this time the PC was able to detect the DX4000 and it is now “resetting your server to the factory default settings…”
(Fingers crossed … )

Thanks!

Well, it looks like it’s working. After running the initial setup application, it’s now Initializing. Excrutiatingly. Slow. Ly. It’s at 10.86%, and climbing 1/100th of a percent every few seconds. This could take a while.

Is this normal? (There are 4 x 4TB drives)

Thanks,

– Mark

Good afternoon! Help restore the device! I got a used device, I’m trying to restore it, I got 4 mdl disks: hus726t4tala6l4 p \ n: 0b35950! I downloaded the EMEA_SvrRecovery recovery image, I do the disk recovery, before that I made them
diskpart
clean
convert gpt
I insert all 4 disks I boot and get an error Invalid count!
I don’t know what to do with them anymore, help is very necessary!

I do not know what mdl disk are? The disc must be of a very certain type from the comparability list
after you complete the recreate step look at the log file in the wd folder on the thumb drive
