My WD HD MEDIA PLAYER does not play the menu of the DVD files (VTS) Is there anyway the WD HD MEDIA PLAYER firmware can be updated to play the menu so that I can select the chapter I want from the menu?
Apparently (and I’ve not tried it) if you rip your DVDs to MKV format using something like makemkv, you can select chapters using WD TV’s generic chapter selector. This is not the case if you rip them to ISO.
If you’re asking for the actual DVD menus, it’s not going to happen with any of the current WD products so you’d be better off looking for a device from another company. Yes, it could be added via a firmware update, but based on feedback from WD, it’s not going to happen.
