DSE WLAN 802.11g USB Adaptor

Hi there will this device work ?

http://www.dse.co.nz/dse.shop/4d439ace014472ee2742c0a87f3b06fa/Product/View/XH9947

The list of tested / supported devices can be viewed on this page:

http://wdc.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3805

That device is not listed.  If you do some detective work and find out what chipset it uses, you might be able to guestimate whether it might work based on the devices that are supported / their chipsets.

Ok Great thanks i have taken it back and now i have a D-Link 150 USB adaptor DWA-125 and its still not working?

The version / revision numbers need to be the same as the ones specified on the page I linked to earlier.

For the D-Link 150, they need to be:

Version A1, FW 1.00

Manufacturers have a frustrating tendency to switch hardware but retain the same model name.  The only way to tell is the version / revision numbers.

On a PC, you have drivers that come with the device that make it all work regardless.

The Live / Plus / Hub have a limited number of drivers specifically supporting certain hardware revisions.  They can add support for new revisions but it’s usually not a quick process.

See if you can find out the version / revision details for the adapter you bought.  If they’re different, post them up here so that someone at WD can see.
