Drives Not Good Past Warranty Date

If you have a my passport ultra, replace it after the warranty date because the drives are unreliable and faulty. I had a drive that was 5 years and 8 months old and the disk heads failed. Thanks god I unplugged the drive, because an evaluation revealed further powering of the device would have caused total data loss. As a military member I relied heavily on my drive to transport and maintain photos, videos, movies, etc. My drive had photos of my kids that don’t exist anywhere else. I had to pay $700 for data recovery to get those pictures back. To avoid the same thing from happening to you, do not trust these products past their warranty date, or buy products from another company
