Drive works fine but lights on front are out

So, I recently had a problem.  I took my WD mybook on vacation so my son could watch movies on laptop.  When I hooked it up this error came:

Access Denied error for folder containing media. Folder now shows 0 sub folders AND 0kb

Now once I got home it was fine.  I hooked it back up to my main pc and everything was there thank GOD.

Now the issue is the little lock is lit and the lights to show drive usage are out.  Also streaming much slower to xbox anyone know whats up?

Not certain about the issue. One thing I’m certain is that the drive is failing and you need to backup your data before it does not work at all.

The LED problem is a physical failure there for will not be detected by the software, if the drive is under warranty feel free to replace it.

I just realized I’m not running the software.  That could be the issue.  I don’t think your answer is accurate.
