Drive model and S/N

Is it possible to remove the cover to see the drive and tell what model it is, ie; red or black label? Or does this void the warranty?
Thanks
Danny

The drives inside the single bay My Cloud enclosures are generally WD Red drives. There is no need to disassemble the My Cloud enclosure to find the internal hard drive model number. As has been discussed in past threads one can enable SSH through the My Cloud Dashboard >Settings then use an SSH program (like Putty for Windows) and issue the following command which will display a list of information on the single bay My Cloud hard drive.

hdparm -i /dev/sda1

THANKS for the help. I had asked about MTBF, and it was mentioned that the drives were likely BLACK drive meaning about 1,000,000 hrs between failures.
THANKS again.
Danny

Yes you did ask about MTBF before and this same info, how to find drive model by SSH, was posted to that thread as well:
