Does WD let us replace a faulty HDD in My Cloud Expert Series EX2 Ultra?

My MyCloud Personal is having some HDD error right now, (S.M.A.R.T error) which means taht probably I need to swap the HDD before loss the data. But after creating a ticket to do this WD Engineer said my device is out of warranty (obviously) and the error I facing is to replace the entire unit, there is no possibility to replace the internal HDD by WD support.
So I wonder, what about My Cloud Expert Series EX2 Ultra? Does they let us change HDD even they are out of warranty in a legal and valid method they can offer? how does this work?
