Does WD DOS Diagnostics support HGST hard drives?

Does WD’s DOS HDD Diagnostics support HGST hard drives?

Phone Tech Support for HGST and WD gave me opposite answers (HGST said No, WD said Yes).

(I’m sure I don’t need to explain why it’s important to be able to run HDD diagnostics outside one’s OS. HGST has no bootable HDD diagnostics of it’s own that supports HDD >2TiB.)

Incidentally, I like WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for DOS, now at v5.27; when I bought a 6TB WD Black drive I found v5.25 didn’t support it, so I phoned WD Tech Support, and the very next day they posted v5.27 which does support bigger HDDs (so far I’ve only tried it on 6 and 8 TB HDDs).

The Windows Data Life guard should work for the HGST internal drives.

Well unfortunately , we haven’t tried that. Surely we will and update that too soon.
