Hi, I am considering buying a My Cloud solution for the carity I work for. We currently use Dropbox but find this limiting in capacity/cost. The idea of having a personal/business cloud that we can manage ourselves is very interesting but one of the advantages of Dropbox is the control over access to files. If a file is open (checked out) other users can’t access the same file until checked back in. This helps with version control. Does My Cloud have this facility?

At this time the WD My Cloud does not feature file version history options for internal file management. Your post sounds more like a good Feature Request; the best place for this, is in the Ideas Exchange section. This way someone from WD will be sure to see it and will allow more users to support your idea.
However, I would first search and make sure that there are no other active Feature Requests suggesting the same or similar improvements. If there is, then you could add your post and vote on it.
