Do other brands of drives work in a MyCloud gen 2?

Do other brands of drives work as a replacement in a MyCloud gen 2? Like a Seagate? Or does it only work with a WD Drive? Thanks!

Any 3.5 inch SATA desktop hard drive should work. Just note that some hard drives may not be designed to run 24/7 under constant use and may degrade quickly if used in an NAS. It’s one reason why WD puts in Red drives, which are supposedly designed for NAS type use, and not the cheaper WD desktop drives.
