I BOUGHT A PASSPORT ESSENTIAL AT COSCO. IT DOES NOT SAY IT IS SPECIFICALLY FOR MAC OR PC. DO I NEED ONE SPECIFICALLY FOR MAC? IT DOES NOT WORK ON MY MAC, YET I READ SOMETHING ABOUT BUYING A CABLE. YOU NEED FOR A MAC.
Hi, my Passport worked OK on MAC until I upgraded to Snow Leopard now I feel cheated as WD haven’t yet to my knowledge sorted out compatibility with Snow Leopard and I have the same issue with My Book (so I have everything backed up - I just can’t access it!!).
Yes, WD My Passport and MyBook Studio are designed and formatted for Mac.
No, You are still able to use the WD My Passport or My Book Essential for Mac.
To make it more friendly to Mac, you would need to format it with Apple file system.
Using the Disk Utility form Mac OS to do that.
