Do I lose functionality (wifi, sd auto save) and similars if I format my drive from EXFAT to HFS+J?

I’ve read several posts but not one clear enough that mentions what happens if I format my drive to HFS+J. The reason behind wanting to do this, is so I can enable iCloud on my photos app in my mac and sync the content to the cloud. The restriction to enable iCloud form my library is that the drive must be HFS+J format.

Thanks,
Manuel.

No, formatting the drive will not effect the Operating System on the Passport Wireless.

How did this go? Everything working as intended after fortmating the drive?
I’m considering doing the same, just for APFS. But I cant see how the OS on the drive would be able to write files for SD/USB imports etc. after doing such?

I dont believe APSF is supported (yet?). But you may not want to. Here is a nice, easy read on the subject,
