Disconnects at random

The WD TV Live is playing videos stored on my WD DL4100 Not Often but regularly, the video stops suddenly, I am looking at the listing of videos with the Audio still playing, then after a few seconds I get the message that the previously selected source has been disconnected and I need to select the same source again or sometimes I have to power cycle the WD TV Live. The DL4100 Logs show that the WD TV Live has disconnected itself:

The “Public” folder on the DL4100 is just that, no authentication required.
Any ideas would be appreciated, as this is very annoying. Firmware is 1 behind latest because I need NETFLIX.

Such behavior can be addressed by updating your unit’s firmware, but you have explained this is not an option. Have you been able to confirm if the issue is present using different networking configurations between wired/wireless/static/dynamic IP address settings?

Nope, sure haven’t. It runs fine for a week or two. I could try static and wireless if you think that’s the issue.
