Direct router connection or connected to wall socket / internet data point

Hi everyone, 

I was wondering if its absolutly neccesary to have a direct connection with the routher or if the mycloud could also be connected via a wall internet socket (internet data point)? Hope you guys can help…

Next one of the most asked question, i presume, is if its possible to directly link the mycloud via cables to a Mac?

Hi Bruin243, it all depends to where that Internet wall socket is connected, in order to access the My Cloud locally all of the devices must be part of the same network. For you second questions, if you mean if it’s possible to connect the My Cloud Ethernet cable directly to a Mac, then yes, this is possible.
