Daily backup not working? No file created yesterday to retrieve

I have my backup frequency set to Daily, at 6 pm. I messed up a file this afternoon and wanted to retrieve the version from yesterday, but the most recent file available is from 4 days ago. Am I not looking in the right place for it?
