Can you you leave the first box in maximum spanning mode and then get the second box to backup the first?  End result you have a total drive space of 4TB being backed up by the second box on the same network?

Thanks for responding, but how?  So if I hooked up the two drives to the network, give them  their own static IP’s and get box 1 to backup my files.  How do I then get box 2 to then copy box 1?

There is a feature called Safepoint (NAS to NAS backup). It is in the dashboard under backups. It will do just as you describe. It is a complete backup of box 1 to box 2.
