Copying from MBW to MBL?

Hi

I’ve just got a MBL to replace my MBW. I’m starting by trying to copy the 90GB iTunes library. Both drives are on the same Gigabit switch so obviously I want to copy NAS to NAS, not using my Mac and two mounted drives.

ssh is enabled on both and I used scp to copy the folder. All seemed OK but quite slow so I left it over night. In the morning only about 5% had copied over and the job had stopped.

What happened? could one or both drives gone to sleep? Is there a better way?

Options:

SCP is good but slower due to encryption. If no security needed, FTP or the above options might be faster.

Also check safepoints.
